What works
Installer works if you install the VC6 runtime (winetricks did the trick, no pun intended). The service seems to start and run.
What does not
The installer fails to add rules to the firewall as it tries to invoke netsh.exe (not an issue since wine doesn't implement the Windows Firewall APIs I think). The program itself fails to start, claiming to not find a required running Scheduled Task. However on my Windows 7 PC there are no Scheduled Tasks installed by Input Director, so it could be referring to the service.
Workarounds
What was not tested
The software appears to install an additional service if it detects it is running on Windows Vista. I tested this software with Wine mimicing Windows XP.
