Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm, and Legacy of the Void, including Starter Editions
Please try the Stater Edition before buying the game to make sure it works on your system (link below). It includes the first campaign (Wings of Liberty) and the Arcade (Mods)
Consider including the following in your test results:
I was using wine 32 bit on a 64 bit OS. (Linux Mint 12)
Switched to 64 bit, All my attempts at 64 bits wine have been
unsuccessful. Until 1.3.37..
1.3.37 is working flawlessly.. Still testing but it looks promising..
So far Campaign, Versus AI are working well..
I had this game working fine on 1.3.32 (32 bit)
Seems like this version runs better than that one...
What does not
Only one thing that was a little glitchy was the sound
in campaign mode..During the cut scenes, the video
would hic cup.. I turned my sound quality to low, with stereo..
sound 16 Channels and the frame rate and sound improved.
Could be an issue with my integrated sound.. But Its really
not a issue..
Intell 6320 Overclocked to 2.2
GT 240 4 gigs of RAM
Game runs at 70 frames, on low settings..
I am content with this resolution game looks good..
What was not tested
Multiplayer.. Which I am sure works.. I had the 32 bit running
with online multiplayer..
I could not get the CD to install.. I went to my account online and installed from Blizzard.. During this download (Which takes a long time) There is a folder and EXE file created to your desktop.. After you install the game do not delete those two items. Save the EXE and save the folder called installer.. Save them on a spare drive or Memory stick.... If you need to install the game again.. Drag them to your desktop and Install the EXE again... The game will install really fast, since you do not have to re-download 7.5 Gigs...There are 2o Something patches, they do not take nearly as long to get as re-downloading 7.5 gigs..

If using custom gamma settings or using an application that automatically changes gamma (e.g. redshift) then at specific times, your gamma setting may reset for a short time.
To fix this, open the registry editor and navigate to:
Inside the newly created "X11 Driver" add the chain value "UseXVidMode" and set it to "N".
After a Battle.net update or a crash, there are sometimes old processes left running that may interfere with your next launch. These processes can be killed before trying again:
killall -i -r '.exe'
Or you can do this manually (and more safely):
ps x #and then....kill as necessary after you got the process ID in the first column
#of course it doesn't hurt to take a look at the manual for these commands:
You can download the StarCraft II Starter Edition for free via the Battle.net Launcher, which includes the first campaign (Wings Of Liberty) and the Arcade (Mods).
Please test how / if the game works before buying it.
As of October Windows XP is no longer supported
