Additional Comments
Simply running the installer and then trying to load metafuze will result in a crash. There are extra steps in the metafuze readme that must be run first. Oddly this doesn't seem provided with the installer but links such as http://cdn.avid.com/DSNitris/10.1.1/Avid_MetaFuze_ReadMe.pdf have the document. in brief from the readme the most important step is; cd to ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Avid/Metafuze run wine cmd to open a wine command prompt then in it run RegisterMetaFuze.cmd which will register a bunch of dlls with wine. Metafuze will then run without crashing.
