Connect to navigon device via USB
(BUT!! only when the navigon device is mounted and the "type" setting for the navigon mountpoint is set to "floppydisk" in winecfg AND! winecfg may not be closed, only apply changes because fucking winecfg forgets the setting immediately after closing!!)
Connect to the navigon server
register an account
login to an existing account
check the firmware
check the installed maps
probably everything else does for the bare navigon device, but I could not try ... see "what works not".
What does not
If there is an sd memory card in the navigon device, which is necessary for the size of the EU40 maps, fresh does not detect this memory extension. A mountable device called "NAVIGONSD" appears as linux removable media, but for some reason the identification wine creates for the linux mountpoint is not what fresh is looking for. So it is not possible to backup the whole device (because the navigon device merges the two devices into one and you can't tell how the data is split) and, which is most annoying:
it is not possible to download the maps to the device, because also the fresh application would merge the two media into one, I found no settings that allow it to recognize the sd memory. If anyone has an idea, please tell me. I hate needing to run windows for the many hours an update takes...
sometimes I experienced crashes but I could not reproduce a certain reason.
What was not tested
Maybe the sd memory problem is only a configuration problem, or the wine media handling is under construction. Please post ideas for solutions!
