During one the the first levels, the game may slow down to below 5 fps. If this is the case, turn off PhysX in the graphics settings. You probably have no GPU PhysX support or missing the relevant patches in Wine (which are not yet in mainline as of wine-3.4).
There's some solutions which may also apply to native Windows:
Remove the PhysX dlls bundled within the game install directories: They may be incompatible with modern graphics drivers. This will enable the game to use the system-provided PhysX dlls.
Install both PhysX and PhysX Legacy from NVIDIA, the former can be installed with "winetricks physx". The legacy version may be needed for older games like this.
Install and activate CUDA in Linux, add nvcuda wine patches. You need the proprietary Nvidia linux driver for this to work.
