- websites recognize the plugin as installed (example: sketchup.google.com/3dwh/buildingmaker.html doesn't redirect to an error page saying it is not available for linux)
- loading animation appearsÂÂ
What does not
- 3D view doesn't load
- it redirects to an error page "a problem with the plugin occured"
- browser hangs up
What was not tested
The Google Earth Plugin is either available as single application (at the attached website) or comes as a bundle with the Google Earth client application. The installer uses Microsoft's Background Intelligent Transfer Service, thus it is necessary to install it on Windows and copy the program folder and maybe also the registry keys to wine. As it is a windows plugin, I installed the windows version of Firefox 3.5 to test it.
