What works
There were several installation errors relating to access control lists, but skipping them and continuing on allowed the installation to finish. Immediately after installing most of the synthesis plug-ins work. By following the How-to on the FL Studio 7 page the rest should work just fine. A list of what I've tried so far and gotten to work includes: 3x Osc Autogun TS404 BooBass Chrome FL Keys FL Slayer FPC Fruit Kick Harmless Ogun Poizone Sawer SimSynth Sytrus Toxic Biohazzard Wasp Wasp XT
What does not
Using a stock (Ubuntu) kernel, latency was a pretty big issue. The granualizer plugin seems to not be working at all. The windows are sometimes a bit slow to redraw, but overall not too bad. The news section is also broken, at least to my knowledge. I have not seen a complete crash yet and after following the version 7 how-to most of the plug-ins I was going to say don't work magically do again.
Workarounds
What was not tested
I haven't had a chance to test all the import/export options. I also didn't test Rewire, audio recording, or synthmaker.

Additional Comments
Reposting the how-to from version 7 to here would be nice since it still seems to apply.

wine notepad 'C:\windows\system.ini' or your favorite *nix text editor (*nix path is '~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system.ini') ...And then add this in the drivers32 section: MSACM.vorbis=vorbis.acm
Good luck!!!
Reported fixed in wine 1.3.28 and later
