What works

I've been testing for a couple of hours. No crashs.

During install I was guided to select a MIDI Keyboard Controller. it did not detect my keyboard (manufacturer/model), but it worked when I opted for some generic MIDI controller .

It recorded a MIDI track. It loaded Abbey Road Reffils (I'm using 16bit samples). There is a big latency between playing the keyboard and hearing, but I turned down the Reason volume and listed to my own Keyboard while recording. Then, during playback, Reason played it very well. Sounds great.

What does not

Installation: when it finished (after freezing the progress bar at 100% for a while) the dialog to type the License Key is hidden under the Reason Splash Screen.

Running: the menu do not work when first clicked.

Installation (license dialog): the hidden dialog: I'm running Gnome, so I clicked on the splash screen, then Alt+F7 and moved the mouse. Now I could see the dialog and type in the license key.

Running (menus): type Alt+down key and the menu is expanded. Then it works with mouse or keyboard. But, after close the menu, the process must be repeated.

What was not tested

Audio recording.

MIDI with more than one track.

Hardware tested

  • GPU: Intel
  • Driver: open source

Additional Comments

In despite of the problems but considering what wine represents, I am very satisfied with the results. It is possible to do some music, some editing.

I found that installing in a 64 bits prefix, the copy paste works.
Besides the menu being not clickable, the other thing that fails are the vertical texts on the rack.
