Wont launch. Program just hangs and crashed Ubuntu
by Terry Lewis on Thursday June 25th 2015, 22:03
Hello,

I tried to install version Win_BigBrainzHomeInstallerFull-L2.0.3-TA6.73-AS2.16.exe and it appears to install under Wine but it hangs once the game is launced. I tried selecting different Windows versions but it does not work.
Sound

I might have switched my Wine default sound to OSS when it ran perfectly, but can't check it today. That might be an easier switch than installing corefonts if it equally solves the problem if it is related to PulseAudio

Everything works fine for me with the default ALSA setting too, with no need to install anything from Winetricks. I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit with an Nvidia GT240. Not sure why the different result from Dan Kegel.
Needs more than a Geforce 7100

On a system with a geforce 7100, this game performs
poorly, with some things missing, and big slowdowns twice
a second.

Works fine with a gt 220 and a core 2 duo E7300 with nvidia 195.36.24.
Needs corefonts

If it has no sound and/or hangs after the intro movie,
try 'winetricks corefonts'.
