What works
- Solo Play was tested (played hours of civ 5!) - Everything what is not in "what does not work" and not in "what was not tested"
What does not
- Intro Movie - SkipIntroMovie = 1 didn't also skip it (as said in another test) so you have to wait 20 seconds everytime you start civ 5. But hey .. not so big deal ;)
Workarounds
What was not tested
- Multiplayer
Hardware tested

Additional Comments
used winetricks vcrun2008 d3dx9 I had random soundproblems in civ 5 (after half an hour of gameplay sound just stops), so i had to put winecfg -> sound -> alsa -> hardware acceleration to emulation and the problem was gone. So now everything works (Multiplayer untestet)! Great :)

Steam
If you are using this game with steam, see the Steam page for details on how to install Steam.
If you are unable to install Steam from the DVD, try installing it from http://store.steampowered.com/about/
Also remember to disable in-game community if you are using Steam.
Installation
For best results, start with a clean wine prefix, then install vcrun2008, d3dx9_36 and vcrun6sp6 using winetricks, then install the game normally.
DirectX 11 is not currently known to work, use DirectX 9 instead.
Use of downloadable content (DLC) may eventually cause the game to crash after a number of turns. If you are experiencing consistent crashes when near the renaissance age when playing with civilizations from the DLC, disabling any DLC other than the expansion packs is advised.
