The initial release version in the first edition of the DVD
Everything seems to work. Sound, graphics, menus all render properly. Performance is good at 144x900/High settings, though zoomed out is a bit laggy. Antialiasing works. NVIDIA driver 256.44, Intel Quad-Core 2.66Ghz/4GB Ram/NVIDIA 9600GT 512Mb.

What was not tested
Use WineTricks to install vcrun2008. To use Antialiasing, enabled multisampling in Wine and use the "override Application Settings" option in the NVIDIA Settings.

If you are using this game with steam, see the Steam page for details on how to install Steam.
If you are unable to install Steam from the DVD, try installing it from http://store.steampowered.com/about/
Also remember to disable in-game community if you are using Steam.
For best results, start with a clean wine prefix, then install vcrun2008, d3dx9_36 and vcrun6sp6 using winetricks, then install the game normally.
DirectX 11 is not currently known to work, use DirectX 9 instead.
Use of downloadable content (DLC) may eventually cause the game to crash after a number of turns. If you are experiencing consistent crashes when near the renaissance age when playing with civilizations from the DLC, disabling any DLC other than the expansion packs is advised.
