The initial release version in the first edition of the DVD
Installing and playing the game for two hours.
What does not
There are a lot of problems with graphics. In some settings all textures become grey and with some other settings, the fog of war is black. Finding settings that work is a bit of a trial and error, but after that the game works. It feels a bit slow, though.
What was not tested
Multiplayer. Just played it for two hours to test.
I am giving this game silver, because the graphics problems almost made me give up trying. Had to install vcrun2010 and d3dx9

If you are using this game with steam, see the Steam page for details on how to install Steam.
If you are unable to install Steam from the DVD, try installing it from http://store.steampowered.com/about/
Also remember to disable in-game community if you are using Steam.
For best results, start with a clean wine prefix, then install vcrun2008, d3dx9_36 and vcrun6sp6 using winetricks, then install the game normally.
DirectX 11 is not currently known to work, use DirectX 9 instead.
Use of downloadable content (DLC) may eventually cause the game to crash after a number of turns. If you are experiencing consistent crashes when near the renaissance age when playing with civilizations from the DLC, disabling any DLC other than the expansion packs is advised.
