What works

I am still in testing and will update as I progress. So far I have tested the following: Opening and creating chapters, planners, checklists etc. Saves and backups. Image imports are fine for jpg (I have not tested other formats yet). Image addition to galleries. Workspaces and layouts can be edited and saved. Listings. Mindmaps editing and creation. Password protection. Universal search. Quick style applicator. Revision marking. Character generator. Work Statistics. Work log. Display prefs. Wallpaper: change, remove (not useful- see comments below!) Colour schemes. Menu buttons. Full screen. Typewriter.

What does not

Individual windows for chapters, planners etc do not appear in the main window. The pop up window does not go away. I reduce the size of the main window and place it either at the top or bottom of the screen. I can then still access everything and windows appear individually on the main desktop. Formatting does not work out of the box. The main issue is changing of line spacing to paragraphs fails. I also had random issues with fonts not changing and styles not applying. However, the saved rtf file preserves any formatting changes. I was able to fix these problems (see extra comments)...

What was not tested

External editor setup. Formatting centre. Hotkeys. Alarms. Detailed look at preferences. Dictionaries. Shortcuts. Resources. Playlists.

Additional Comments

To fix the formatting issue I had to use the following windows native dlls: riched20 riched32 msftedit I then set wine overrides on each of the above dlls to native. Formatting should then work fine. :) Font displays can be made pretty by using winetricks fontsmooth-rgb. I ran wine as windows XP. I have given this app bronze since technically the pop up and window issue does not describe flawless operation but quite frankly it works just fine so far. I'll update as I test... o/ K
