Additional Comments

Use the "-dxlevel 81" commandline option before first starting. Then play multiplayer. Exit the game and remove the "-dxlevel 81" command. If you don't do this, the in-game menu will be black, and textures will not be loaded properly.

HowTo / Notes

HOWTO

Many users have issues with textures and the menu not loading (getting a black menu and purple/black textures).

To fix this, add a launch option.

You can do this by right-clicking on PVKII in the library, then "Properties", then "Set launch options...", then doing this:

  1. Add the line "-dxlevel 81" (without quotations of course).
  2. Start up PVKII and play for a bit. Don't configure options yet, they won't be remembered anyway.
  3. Exit PVKII and remove the launch option "-dxlevel 81".
  4. Start up again, and configure options.

Some users also report crashing on start.

If this happens to you, you can add the launch option "-novid". It will remove that annoying intro clip.
