Setting graphics as high as possible for my system.
Playing longer than 10 Minutes
The guide from Evilandi666 and Carl A. Myrland worked pretty well, you should check it out. I don't really know if I needed all steps, but it works, so I am happy ;) The only thing I had to do additionally to their steps was setting comctl32.dll to builtin, because regedit wouldnt let me add new keys to the registry without crashing. If you have the same Problem do this: $ WINEPREFIX=~/.wine-fnv winecfg Then go to Libraries and change comctl32.dll (which should be the first in the list) to Builtin only. Furthermore I'd like to add, that I didnt have any problems with sound or exiting the game. It just works like i'd expect it on windows to work! Next step will be to try out setting up the graphics properly. I'm already suprised that the game works on highest resolution and high settings, because my notebook isn't that new and high end. Lets see what is possible :D

Things needed to be installed for F:NV to run;
winetricks quartz* - Maybe
*With 1.3.25 onwards, some dll overrides could cause issues (I'm looking squarely at quartz) - This could just have been an issue with me because I have a wine-steam prefix with as many games that work as possible in there, had to move New Vegas to its own prefix after these issues.
The winetricks version of quartz is from directx9, a user reported that he needed the win7 version for it to work. YMMV
This will be updated if anything else comes up as a requirement.
