Retail version that is distributed via Steam.
Game launches and runs fine with no apparent graphical glitches or artifacts.
Game played fairly stable (well, as stable as New Vegas can get) at Big MT for ~half an hour. Moving between areas works.
Closing the game works fine.
Mods worked (after I enabled them at the launcher).
New Vegas Script Extender also worked perfectly.
What does not
Alt-Tabing messes up the mouse/keyboard control, forcing to close the game (on Gnome 3)
What was not tested
Installing the game through wine steam (played on an already installed and modded version in my Windows 8 partition).
Any overworld areas outside of Big MT.
Playing through the game from start to finish (tested mid playthrough)
I tested on a clean install of wine staging 2.5 with gallium nine patch (available in the Manjaro repos). Used the open source AMD drivers (kernel 4.9 + mesa 17) on my AMD R9 290 + Intel i5 4670 + 8GB of RAM combo Performance was surprisingly good (60fps solid with few dips in combat) after I enabled the relevant options in the staging tab of Winecfg. Didn't do ANY other changes. lib32-mpg123 needs to be install to fix music issues.

Things needed to be installed for F:NV to run;
winetricks quartz* - Maybe
*With 1.3.25 onwards, some dll overrides could cause issues (I'm looking squarely at quartz) - This could just have been an issue with me because I have a wine-steam prefix with as many games that work as possible in there, had to move New Vegas to its own prefix after these issues.
The winetricks version of quartz is from directx9, a user reported that he needed the win7 version for it to work. YMMV
This will be updated if anything else comes up as a requirement.
