What works

It works (almost) perfectly.

What does not

Drawing toolbar icons each time Toad is focused is very slow. If you hide all toolbars with icons Toad becomes faster. Pressing F4 while describing objects can sometimes causes Toad to crash. The workaround is to use Schema Browser. Ctrl+Shift+F can cause Toad to crash or to become non-responsive. The workaround is to click with mouse on a code. It is much better to use right mouse click, Formatting Tools, Format. Popup windows (row counting, processing...) can be hidden in the background (mouse click, focusing to other application...) and there is no way to get it back. If you would like to abort process (counting, processing...) the workaround (if you're lucky) is to press ESC.

Steps: 1.) run "winetricks mdac28 msxml3 msxml4 msxml6 vb6run vcrun6sp6 msls31 gecko riched20 riched30 richtx32 comctl32 comctl32.ocx" 2.) Download and extract 32-bit Oracle Instant Client 11g from http://otn.oracle.com 3.) Run "Configure Wine" from menu under Libraries tab check "comctl32" to "Builtin, Native" 4.) Run "regedit" HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment add PATH to ORACLE_HOME 5.) Install Toad Freeware. If you install Toad Commercial install only Toad and Knowledge Expert. 6.) For programming font choose for example Inconsolata font (http://www.levien.com/type/myfonts/inconsolata.html)
