This is the basic version of Empire Earth, without the AOC expansion.
There are 3 versions:
1.0, 1.04 and 2.0. These verions don't make any noticeable difference in Wine.
The 2.0 version is NOT Empire Earth II
Installation (see additional comments).
The game - graphics and sound okay.
The mouse is a bit sluggish but the game is playable.
What does not
What was not tested
Initial attempts to install failed at the last hurdle because the final dialog box, asking about the desktop icon and readme, were inaccessible behind the main window. Solved by moving the main window and progress bar to one side while installation was going on. Probably obvious but it might help somebody. I did need to disable direct music with the registry hack as explained elsewhere but did not touch msvcrt.dll (experimented with overriding it and at first I thought the mouse was faster, it may just be that I was slower...)

Running the game:
-Use the native msvcrt.dll
do this by setting the following Registry key to "0":
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SSSI\Empire Earth\Music Enabled
To allow EE to find the CD you should open winecfg and add a drive mapping, setting it to CDROM.
