This is the basic version of Empire Earth, without the AOC expansion.
There are 3 versions:
1.0, 1.04 and 2.0. These verions don't make any noticeable difference in Wine.
The 2.0 version is NOT Empire Earth II
Using 0.9.20 on Gentoo Linux
It installs just fine and I was able to get the splash screen to show up, go away and the screen resolution switches in preparation for showing the videos.
What does not
It crashes before showing the videos with the following error with double buffering on and DirectMusic disabled in the registry:
err:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne underrun on sound buffer 0xb1ddad0
wine: Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x000002a0 at address 0x7e81b9be (thread 0023), starting debugger...

With double buffering on it doesn't even make it that far and crashes with the following error:
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 128 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 5 (X_GLXMakeCurrent)
Serial number of failed request: 218

What was not tested
I did not test it with a clean install (but all of my apps are currently working beautifully), and all my attempts were in windows 98 mode only.

Running the game:
-Use the native msvcrt.dll
do this by setting the following Registry key to "0":
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SSSI\Empire Earth\Music Enabled
To allow EE to find the CD you should open winecfg and add a drive mapping, setting it to CDROM.
