Empire Earth

This is the basic version of Empire Earth, without the AOC expansion.

There are 3 versions:
1.0, 1.04 and 2.0. These verions don't make any noticeable difference in Wine.
The 2.0 version is NOT Empire Earth II

Additional Comments

The mouse input is literally garbage. Fixes for this issue mentioned before don't work. I can use the cursor but I have to swipe the mouse a foot across the mouse pad every time to get the cursor to move just even a little. Not only was that a pain, but the cursor would cause graphical glitches as it went across the screen. This caused the game to be hardly playable. Keyboard input worked excellently in the game. Other than what I have mentioned before the game works flawlessly save for when switching graphical settings.

Empire Earth 1 success
by Kevin DeFord on Saturday November 2nd 2013, 17:47
I was able to get Empire Earth Gold Edition to work finally for single player games. The biggest issue is don't install any patches and don't install Art of Conquest.

I used:

Wine 1.6
d3dx9
dinput8
vcrun6

Then just did a normal install. I have not gotten it to work properly outside of an emulation mode - seems to have trouble with the screen resolution when run outside emulation. Mouse speed works fine in this mode - game is definitely playable.

If the patch 1.00 - 1.04 patch is installed, the mouse stops working. If the expansion is installed, Empire Earth still works fine, but the expansion does not work.

Anyone had any success getting the expansion to work?
