Playing in fullscreen and windowed mode.
What does not
Using the proprietary ATI graphic driver "fglrx" when playing fullscreen, probably because it only supports 24 bit color (The game will always switch back to windowed mode). "fglrx" however works well in windowed mode and when using wine's virtual desktop. The open source drivers "radeon"/"radeonhd" allow playing in real fullscreen mode.
When in fullscreen mode, most dialog windows e.g. to change attraction names, are not visible, but can still be used. You can switch temporarily to windowed mode to make them visible, if you really need to.
What was not tested
I didn't use the wine virtual desktop for long time testing, just for some minutes to check if the game will start with that option. It does.
Tested version is the german version of the game. I tested with a Radeon HD 4850 on a clean install of wine. No NoCD-Cracks, native DLLs, winetricks or other modifications were necessary. The Tutorial will switch the game to 640x480 fullscreen mode. It therefore may not work properly if you use a driver like "fglrx" that doesn't really support this games fullscreen mode. HINT: If you'd like to play in widescreen or resolutions higher than the ingame maximum of 1024x768, you should play in windowed mode. The games graphic engine scales pretty well to much higher resolutions than the 3 offered options and you'll be able to see much more of your park at the same time.
