VbsEdit

What works

­- The 32-bit version.
- The editor in itself: no problem to load and edit a VBS file (or an HTA file).
- Code completion: it works fine for the classes and procedures defined in the user code, but not for the native Windows objects (i.e. WScript and WMI classes).
- Object browser: same problems as the code completion. It displays correctly the classes and procedures d­efined in the user code, but not the native Windows objects (WMI classes are empty, "Could not load library" for WScript).

Note: VbsEdit is provided with a tool targeted at HTA editing. This tool, HtaEdit, has exactly the same working features than VbsEdit. One little exception: the object browser displays correctly the classes from the "Microsoft HTML Object Library".

What does not

­- The 64-bit version.
- Context sensitive help: nothing happens when you press the F1 key.
- Debugger: wh­en you try to launch a debugging session, you get the message "Failed to load pdm.dll. Ensure that pdm.dll is installed on this computer".
- WMI snippets: the list is empty!

Note: VbsEdit is provided with a tool targeted at HTA editing. This tool, HtaEdit, has exactly the same problems than VbsEdit.

Workarounds

- Convert a VBS file into an executable.
- Print a VBS file.

IMPORTANT: The setup program does not work at all (32-bit and 64-bit versions): see the previous test data. To use VbsEdit, you must install it in a Windows OS and grab all the files after installation.
