With a clean wineprefix this crashes soon after loading, from a problem inside gecko. BUT, using winetricks to install ie7 resolves this, and I didn't run into any other issues.

Works flawlessly as long as you have vcrun2008 and ie8 installed. Recommended you complete the installation of those requirements using winetricks.
