µTorrent 3.x - current stable version.
Downloading and seeding, queuing, auto-loading torrents from a specified directory, priority changing, opening downloaded files, tray-hiding/restoring (in KDE), changing various settings in multiple sections.
What does not
- In the preferences under the 'Directories' section when you should select a directory to save\load torrents from using the file browser, the program actually looks for a file instead, so the easiest way is to enter/paste the folder path directly into the field.
- Bug 27579 - The torrents list section's background is completely black, most of its fields have black text, which makes them unreadable unless you select/edit them.
There is a workaround as stated by ax 34noff:
workaround i use: Preferences/Advanced/sys.enable_wine_hacks = false
torrents list works good ...but free area of it remains black.
- Association with torrent files does not get saved.
What was not tested
The program works without installation, the executable does not get copied in the Program files or anywhere else. However, the settings which are created by uTorrent are stored in your user profile folder (specified in Wine settings), and get loaded regardless of the executable file's location (you can launch it from anywhere).
