The webbased installation is working. Just download the file msgr11us.exe from Yahoos website. Then run it. Follow the instructions from the HowTo-section below. You can start the application but will not get a login.
What does not
Login didn't work. So it isn't possible to use the messenger.
What was not tested
Nearly all functions of YIM.
The application cannot log into Yahoo. so there is no change to use the messenger functions. For this is rated as Garbage.

The installation is finished. You can start the Yahoo!Messenger by typing in the terminal:
(You will have to replcace /path/to/ by the correct path.)
There are some errors in the GUI: e.g. see bug no. #21579 and others. Until now YIM - Yahoo!Messenger isn't really working on wine.
If you want to come closer to some problems you will need to use winetricks:
will help to prevent the bug no. #21579 but than you will run into the next bug(s): you can send a message but not receive one. So this is only for experimental use.
