What works

  • With mono:
    • Installing the game.
    • Launching the game (up to the menu screen).
  • With native dotnet35sp1:
    • Installing the game.
    • Launching and playing the game (with error messages and no functional videos).

What does not

  • With mono:
    • The game crashes when starting a new game, at the end of the loading screen. I assume this is related to the video that should be playing at that point.
    • The game crashes on closing.
  • With native dotnet35sp1:
    • There are several error messages ("Unhandled exception in a component in your application") each time a video is played. These errors can be ignored by clicking on "Continue". The sound of the video is audible, but the video display is truncated.

Workarounds

Using winetricks, install dotnet35sp1 before installing the game.

With this workaround, the game can be played but with error messages and no functional videos.

What was not tested

Completing the game (I didn't try to go beyond the beginning of the game).

Hardware tested

Graphics:

  • GPU: Nvidia
  • Driver: proprietary
