What works

Installer seems to work. And updater too. The launcher buttons works but the launcher itself have many problems.

What does not

Many of the in game sprites (all 2D sprites even the mouse, but not the 2.5D or text sprites) appear as grey sprite. The launcher's buttons are rarely placed and the status is not shown.

HowTo / Notes

HOWTO

This howto will be changed when new fixes are found. This must be done at windows.

  • Get a copy of critter.dat and master.dat of fallout 2 cd. Place it in a place you can remember.
  • Install the fonline : 2238 client. Select client.dat and master.dat copied before.
  • Go to Fonline's folder and modify the Fonline.cfg replacing fonline.dat for faction.zip
  • Make the dir data/scripts on FOnline's folder.
  • Execute the Launcher (optional) and then the updater.
Now, copy it to linux and:
  • Install mono, dotnet20 (or dotnet30), and ie7.
  • Execute the Launcher (optional) and then the game.
Using the launcher is optional because you can directly execute updater.exe and client.exe.
