What works
Excel 2010 generally works superb. Â
What does not
The quickfilter in Excel did not work on OSX. I get a flickering screen.
See the problem here: Â
====================
A. Wine OSX > Flickering problem.
B. Wine Ubuntu > No flickering problem.
Videos which show the problem
https://youtu.be/3ekent6BYTEÂ (Mac OSX El Capitain - problem)
https://youtu.be/Oz1NPChSMsg (Ubuntu - no problem)
In my opinion, the problem resides in the way Wine handles the keyboard on OSX. Instead of directly relaying the keystrokes directly from the hardware, Wine seems to OSX to manage keyboard input. My rationale for saying this, is that I can change the flickering rate (see video A) by change the key repeat rate, in the OSX configuration screen.
Workarounds
What was not tested

Workarounds for bugs 23805 and 30587:
Solution 1: Run in an emulated virtual desktop. This is probably the easiest solution for most users.
Solution 2: Uncheck "Allow the window manager to control the windows" in winecfg. The downside is that Excel will no longer show up in the taskbar.
Solution 3: (KDE users only) In System Settings, Window Behavior, do the following:
