E-Sword will work great as long as you install it using the installer on this page: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=404042
After doing it this way, it works "right out of the box".

Fallow the instructions on the page listed above and it will work great. Do not change the path to the folder used to save the Bibles. All bibles will be saved in .wine_Esword\drive_c\Program Files\e-Sword.
