Final Liberation is Games Workshop's 1997 Turn Based Strategy game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe but in the same scale as Epic (at that point called "Warhammer Epic 40,000").
The game was produced by SSI (Strategic Simulations Inc) who later went on to produce Chaos Gate, and who are also owned by Mindscape, the creators of Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat.

Everything works as expected. Installs and runs. Copy protection works. Requires the CD to be inserted to play.
What does not
Newer ATI Drivers on Fedora Core 6 do not support AIGLX nor compiz. After disabling both in xorg.conf, the game must still be run with setarch i386 -X wine Epic40k.exe (or if you prefer it to be in a tiny (640x480) virtual desktop, start it with with setarch i386 -X wine explorer /desktop=foo,640x480 Epic40k.exe)
Believe me, I have tried everything, including disabling prelink and exec-shield and even removing the NX bit with the kernel boot line. There is presently no easy work-around except setarch -X for wine, if you have newer ATI and recent distro. Hopefully ATI will get around to fixing this. My nVidia machines do not suffer from this problem.
What was not tested
I didn't play much in that tiny window but everything seems to work fine.
This worked for Starcraft so I assume it will work for this game as well. You should be able to fake the game out by using "dd if=/dev/cdrom of=final.iso" and then mounting that image somewhere later. To fake the CD, simply go into winecfg -> drives -> advanced mode and tell it to treat it as a CDROM. That way you won't have to insert the disk every time.
