Everything works flawlessy, playing with the GOG.com version.
What does not
Everything works with a caveat: all 3d models and baloons are visible and interactible, but seldom, and to me seems randomly, due to some error, baloons and some 3d models (random monsters in the dungeon, no boss as far as I tested) become invisible while playing. Saving the game and restarting clears this effect; where you cannot save (i.e. dungeons) still the game is playable albeit with more difficulty because shadows mark missing sprites. Unlike previous tests, tresure chests, doors of return and bosses are visible and interactible.
What was not tested
Dungeons after Obsidian Tower.
You can install the game through either the GOG installer or GOG Galaxy; there seems to be no difference, either method works. "winetricks -q d3dxof dsound directmusic" makes the game work and gives it a proper audio too. To start the game be sure to be in the directory where it is installed. Alternatively, GOG Galaxy is able to start it correctly.
