What works
Almost everything, except automatic updates, but an earlier poster noted a url from which the latest ufile.exe can be downloaded and run. That updated ufile correctly and thus, enabled netfile. Program was tested doing two tax returns, one of which included a home-business. Program generates the .TAX files needed to netfile. See "what does not work" for a minor bug.
What does not
The automatic updates feature does not work. Nor does downloading the update file separately and using Microsoft's update.exe utility, pulled from a Windows XP installation. There are also two minor bugs: I noted on several screens, you will see lines of text where there is obviously something - something like: "To do so, you must have a valid CRA access code and satisfy the ." Note the space before the period. I suspect these are probably links. The second minor bug involves netfile. When you select Netfile, Ufile correctly saves your tax return to a .TAX file and opens a browser to the Canadian Revenue Agency's appropriate page. After uploading your tax return, the CRA gives you a confirmation number. When you go back to Ufile to enter it, you are no longer on the Netfile form you had left and the program has locked up. You have to kill it, restart it, and navigate back to the Netfile tab in order to enter your confirmation number.
Workarounds
What was not tested
Tax programs are extremely complicated. The number of combinations of entries is almost endless. I have no way to confirm that for the two tax situations I tested with, all components of Ufile2010 were used. It is therefor entirely possible that not everything was tested and that a person with a different tax situation may end up with a problem if they use a module that I didn't.

Additional Comments
Finally! A Canadian tax program that runs under Linux! Ufile has my undying loyalty, at least until they screw it up. One thing for users to consider: It's important to realize that DRTax is not likely to support UFile if run under Wine, so I would suggest that, if you are using Linux/Wine to do your taxes, you don't wait until the last minute and allow yourself a few days, just in case you have to work around something or about to an XP platform. UFile does permit the installation on up to 2 computers, so you can do that if you have to. Admin note: rating changed to conform to the rating definitions.
