The installation procedure is somewhat complicated, and has to be strictly followed, I advise creating a new wineprefix to make sure the installation works properly. The wineprefix must have 32 bit architecture (but works fine on x86_64 host systems). Run the following commands in order: Install a new wine prefix: WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.winezeit winecfg Make sure wine-mono is NOT installed, uninstall it if it is by running the following command: WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.winezeit wine uninstaller Fix a bug that occurs when installing dotnet35sp1 (optional if winetricks installs dotnet35sp1 correctly on your system): touch ~/.winezeit/drive_c/windows/winsxs/manifests/"x86_Microsoft.VC80.CRT_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.3053_x-ww_b80fa8ca.cat" After running the following command, make sure dotnet35sp1 is correctly installed, if you get an error message like "install completed, but installed file ...x86_Microsoft.VC80.CRT_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.3053_x-ww_b80fa8ca.cat/indexb.dat not foundÂ", you must start over and make sure to create that file before running winetricks (as explained in the previous step) WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.winezeit winetricks dotnet35sp1 If the following command incorrectly says that xnafx31 is already installed, you must download xnafx31_redist.msi and install it manually: WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.winezeit winetricks xna31 wmp9 and quartz are required to play the .wmv files in the game, directx9 is required for the input module, the game will crash without directx9 installed: WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.winezeit winetricks wmp9 devenum quartz directx9 This step is important, the game will crash on launch without it, in the winecfg menu, change operating system from windows xp to windows 7. WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.winezeit winecfg And now the final crucial step, you must copy qedit.dll (part of DirectShow/Quartz) from a windows system to ~/.winezeit/drive_c/windows/system32/, either get it from a live windows install or download it from the internet. Without qedit.dll none of the .wmv files in the game will work and it will immediately crash. After copying qedit.dll, you must run the following command: WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.winezeit wine regsvr32 qedit After that, run WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.winezeit winecfg, go to the libraries menu and set qedit.dll to native, builtin. Tested the game with both integrated (Intel HD Graphics 530 (Skylake GT2)) and external (GeForce GTX 960M) GPU's, works flawlessly.
