What does not
Will not install on Ubuntu through Wine
What was not tested
Fails to install
Towards the end of the installation I get the following: "The program SetupDefaults.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. This can be caused by a problem in the program or a deficiency in Wine. You may want to check http://appdb.winehq.org for tips about running this application If the problem is not present under Windows and has not been reported yet, you can report it at https://bugs.winehq.org" Continuing the installer gives the following : "An error occurred while attempting to connect to the control database. Please check your settings, make sure the Firebird Service is installed and running and try again. Error info : Database name : LocalHost:C:\Omni\Setup\Omni_control.gdb Internal Message : dmMain.dbControl: Unsuccessful execution caused by a system error that precludes successful execution of subsequent statements. Unable to complete network request to host "LocalHost" Failed to establish a connection. Connection refused." The Omni installer loads Firebird database version 1.5.4 automatically. (It shows up on your applications tab) I have also installed the latest Firebird version 2.5 from Synaptic Package Manager. I use a stand alone desktop with Windows XP and Ubuntu dual loaded, the idea being to switch to Linux eventually.
