HOWTO: Get the Launcher to work [LINUX]

The Rappelz Launcher will not work properly with the Gecko rendering engine which is installed with Wine.

To be able to use the Rappelz Launcher, so to be able to play the game, you'll have to install IE.
One of the ways to install IE is via these steps:

  • Install WineTricks via your favorite package manager.
  • Open a terminal window (if not already open) and run the following command:
winetricks ie6
  • The IE6 installer is being downloaded. After the download completes, follow the steps on your screen to get IE6 installed.
  • After the installation completes, close all Wine programs and (re)start the Launcher.
IEs4Linux is another way to install various IE versions, but in later Linux versions (Ubuntu 11.04 Beta 1 is one of them) it's not possible to install IE6 via IEs4Linux.
