CV is fully functional for RC planes on my systems. Planes, flying sites, wind via weather - all load and work. Turning options like smoke, sound, etc ,off or on, work . Frame rate of about 10 is a bit slow - see comments.
What does not
When the program loads, typically there is a pop-up msg "Could not create Java virtual machine". In any where from 0 to 5 boot attempts, CV loaded without the Java msg and works as described.
What was not tested
Nothing else tested as only interest in basic RC plane flying.
Ubuntu 12.4LTS, Wine 1.4.1, HD Radeon 4650 AGP, HD Radeon 9200 Pro AGP, Dynam controller, ClearView 5.34 Under Ubuntu, the frame rates are 9-11/sec; under XP the frame rates are 50 (4650) and 30 (9200 Pro). The ATI drivers are optimized with supplied drivers in XP; in Ubuntu it is the native ATI drivers which appear to not be optimal.
