What works

Installing delphi 7.0 using installer in CD_DRIVE:/install/setup.exe (without interbase and visibroker/corba support)

Running delphi 7.0

Opening a project (previously created Delphi 7.0 under in native WinXP environment).

Running the project including a small window with a button and a label which is changing while the program runs (basically very little GUI elements, however it seems that it works)

Setting breakpoints, debugging at breakpoint hit (checking values of variable by hovering over). Step continue etc works.

What does not

Using the default installer (previous Wine versions would not continue after 'enter license key' dialog. New 0.9.61 version _does_ continue after this, but gives many error messages when installing InterBase. The error messages include a message about the file being copied when the error occurred and it showed that some of the characters of the filename are unknown characters (squares, strange symbols). It seems to me that this is the reason that copying fails.

Pausing application by clicking the pause button (delphi does not respond after pausing the application)

Additional Comments

Installed from mounted .iso of the original CD with a valid license key. About reads: Delphi 7.0 build 4.453 Delphi complains that a just-in-time debugging parameter is set to winedbg something, and not to its own debugger. It asks if it can be changed, which I did not do in the first case (everything worked), but later I let Delphi set this variable... Didn't change a thing. I use Delphi solely for numerical simulations which are mostly serially called procedures without fancy stuff on the GUI, or database access etc. I have no idea what interbase is, but since my prog runs without it, it doesn't seem necessary for me.
