HowTo / Notes

How to fix lighting and shadow effects.

For Windows and Linux systems who have newer video cards:

The shadow placements may be incorrect and therefore spotlight beams, flash light beams and ceiling light beams may not appear.

To fix this do the following:

  1. In the game folder go to SYSTEM folder and open SplinterCell.ini file with text editor.
  2. Find block [D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice]
  3. Add or change (if string exists) ForceShadowMode=1 to ForceShadowMode=0
  4. Save the edited file
PlayStation 3 HD textures

The textures from the PlayStation 3 port of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell are higher definition and can be installed by overwriting the existing textures.

The HD textures are mostly faithful to the original textures.
