Wine's inter-process communication seems to be a bit of a bottleneck. Evernote's Windows desktop client has a few subprocesses which chat heavily, and this causes it to be a lot less responsive in Wine than when run natively.

Sure, probably everything works properly but it's slow as molasses. Also, some weird redraw issues making it look awful - this is not important though, the slowness is what is making it unusable (no exaggeration here, I really, really doubt anyone can use it as it's working right now).
Yes, I'm using 1.3.17 instead of the mentioned 1.3.18, but I've been following this for so long that it doubt any improvements have been made regarding Evernote in 1.3.18.

Maybe it has something to do with the number of notes you have? How many notes do you have? In the account I'm testing it with I have ~1900 notes.
