What works

Finally, Desperados has got a GOLD Status :)

I've done a tiny video, showing how it works. Since I have used recordmydesktop, it didn't record the ingame-sound, but it's there :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zndw71TUC9w&feature=youtu.be

So what works:

-Gameplay

-Game Videos ( If you have set your drive in Wine)

-Mouse

-Keyboard Hotkeys like ALT,M, Number keys etc

-Sound

-Music

-Menu

-saving

-loosing :D

What does not

-Map is working, but background is missing and so It's nearly invisible. Not fully, but a bit

-The save/settings menus are nearly invisible like the map. But you can still read them :)

Additional Comments

I have used the newest 1.5.2 of Wine, so use the newest version as well... So what you need to get that game working msadp32.acm - You can get it from your Windows-Installation or from here http://www.down-dll.com/index.php?file-download=msadp32.acm _________ The 1.1 Patch, see here http://www.spellbound.de/files/desperados_101.exe ____________________________________________________ STEP ONE : Install the game normally STEP TWO: Install that damn Patch STEP THREE : Copy and paste that msadp32.acm into wine's system32 directory. You can find it in your home directory under /.wine/drive_c/windows/ , and then into the folder system32 folder. REPLACE it now with the old one. STEP FOUR : Open op winecfg and and choose the msadp32.acm, don't forget to set it to "Native" ! STEP FIVE : Under winecfg, go to drives and choose your CD/DVD Drive, or put in the path, where your .iso file of that game is mounted. IF you DON'T do it, you will get error messages before start and you won't get the movies, which are played between missions. STEP SIX : Save your changes STEP SEVEN : Enjoy one of the best strategy games ever :D ______________________________________________ Finally I can play that game without problems. Under Windows 7, it will hang every few minutes, and I'm not the only one having that problem. Under XP, it still went fine :( :D http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/604/t1433066-deperados-crashes-on-win-7/ I hope, that's useful :)
