What works

Everything Except the About Window.. but it's tricky to setup

I had it setup on WinXP, tried to run it from the original install directory NTFS filesystem, didn't work, well.. it crashed. Then installed it in Wine. Didn't work.
Ran it again from the original Win XP Pro install directory and it now it worked. Cost me an additional Pro license (10$) to run on 2 computers, my Win license only covers 1 computer.

I copied over my original Goodsync Application Data folder (with jobs settings and logs) from Win XP Documents and Settings to Wine C direve in user/application data

Make sure the NTFS partitions you're using are mounted before running a job using NTFS partitions.

Succesfully Tested
* backing up database files from FTP server to HD (NTFS partition)
* backing up database files from FTP server to google drive (google docs account)

What does not

About Window crashes it, everything else I tested works. However, you're well advised to not click around too much and too fast, I crashed it doing that. Something that worked before suddenly crashed just because I was clicking around and selecting things too fast. I restarted, tried again, at a normal tempo, no problem.

Additional Comments

I'll give it a Silver Rating despite the tricky setup. If you know what you're doing it'll be the best sync/backup option available on any platform. Backup/Sync between FTP/HD/WebDAV/Amazon/Google Docs(Drive) and more. The google docs/drive option alone was worth the 25$ price for me. If however you're a "click and install and no more..." type of person, this is not for you. I don't know if this would run if you don't have a dual boot Win where you installed it first.

Native Linux Version coming up

I have contacted Siber Systems, the company behind goodsync, giving them some tips and feedback on how to make their app work better under wine, trying to get this clumsy setup thing fixed and they replied to me that they will be releasing a native Linux version as soon as this week (10/09/2012). So much for coincidences I guess.
