What does not
-GLSL shaders, which results in weird coloured output all of the screen. Can be worked around by forcing UseGLSL= disabled.
What was not tested
You need to create a registry entry HKCU/Software/Wine/Direct3D/UseGLSL = disabled (do a search if you don't know how to do this). I also believe that a nvidia card is required for this to work. I also needed to install the native d3dx9 dlls with "winetricks d3dx9", otherwise the game starts up with a black screen only. Performance is quite bad even at low settings (10-15 fps outdoors with a system above recommended requirements), possibly because of UseGLSL = disabled, but also because the game is quite demanding. And additionally because of the typical performance hit that results from the Direct3D to OpenGL conversion.
