Additional Comments

Runs quiet good. Im not able to say if it runs out of the box cause i installed d3d and vcrun with winetricks BEFORE starting the installation. ********************************** Installation: 1.) create a new WINEPREFIX - youre not need to do that. Im always install new games/programs into a fresh and clean wineprefix 2.) env WINEPREFIX=~/PATH/TO/YOUR/FRESH&CLEAN/WINEPREFIX/ winetricks vcrun2010 d3dx10 3.) env WINEPREFIX=~/PATH/TO/YOUR/FRESH&CLEAN/WINEPREFIX/ wine /PATCH/TO/YOUR/WITCHER_2_SETUP.EXE - here the GoG-installer selfupdate your game to the given patch, which was 1.3 for me. After that i got some trouble with the Launcher.exe in my /gamepath which is linked to the Desktopsymbol. He told me that: err:module:import_dll Library mfc100u.dll is not found which is definitely a part of vcrun2010 which we installed in step 2.) ^^ So i created my own Desktop entry and linked directly to the witcher2.exe in the /bin path of my installation. This worked good for me. ********************************** Gameplay: Awesome! I can run the game on very high settings without any problems. Runs absolutely smooth. I can not agree with the test result before with lower wineversions where you got performance trouble. I also DONT disabled useGLSL, for me its not needed as the game plays all videos and whatever. ********************************** Systeminformation: CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 3.4 GPU: ATI RADEON HD 6990 of course with the latest catalyst installed (i guess at this time it must be 12.3) SuSE 11.4 64b kernel 2.6.37.6-0.11-desktop x86_64 ********************************** Near to Platinumranking

Witcher 2 running slow

I installed xact and it made the game a little faster, but the big difference was made in the registry editor, I set "StrictDrawOrdering"="disabled"
