What works

So far virtually everything! Installation as always (being a steam game). Getting to the main menu (after fix described below and waiting about 4mins - huge game to load).

Both strategy screen and tactical battles worked fine as well.

What does not

That awesomium.dll/chrome mini-browser thing on the main menu. Game crashes if that's present in game dir.

Workarounds

What was not tested

Naval battles and completing game, before the Fall of the Samauri patch; the game would grind to a halt during battles and would require a game restart to fix. So far this behaviour has not been observed.

Additional Comments

Game installs directx from what I can figure, d3dx9_42 looks like it's required. Also as mentioned above the game needs a file renaming otherwise it won't load to main menu. All in all, Gold rating. Game seems 10/10 playable.

HowTo / Notes

Fall the Samauri Update Workaround

If your game crashes due to awesomium.dll then do the following to get game working again;

Go to the games directory (Steam/steamapps/common/total\ war\ shogun 2/) and rename AwesomiumProcess.exe to AwesomiumProcessOrg.exe

Pirate warning & Steam

During battles you may encounter a message saying your copy might be counterfeit or that your install is broken. Now this could be because of the FOTS fix mentioned OR there is a problem with how the game knows steam is running.

At first you'll only be able to move your mouse around but if you wait the message goes away and you'll be able to continue the battle as normal.
