What works

Works on OS X 10.11.2.

Can log in, switch servers, change settings, list games and players, observe and play games.

shasum: af3b32c38f49d63bd616d2f69e79e35e863a2bfd  TygemGlobalSetup.exe

What does not

The Installer requires mfc42.dll ... : "brew install winetricks; hash -r; winetricks mfc42".

The built-in browser can't install some custom ActiveX plugin.

The login dialog is unresponsive until the web-content on the right starts loading. Just wait a few seconds until the cursor reappears.

The first time the window is dragged it will start to start to evade the mouse. To "catch" it open the system menu by right-clicking on the icon in the top left corner of the main window. Then ignore the opened menu and left-click inside the main window.

With the x11 driver ("winetricks settings macdriver=x11") the main window was unusable. (Not resizable, unclosable initial dialog when invitations are ignored.)

HowTo / Notes

For best results, run in Korean Locale

Although Tygem will run just fine in a default en_US locale, you will get much more aesthetically pleasant results by running it in a Korean one. This isn't just because the various Korean/Japanese/Chinese usernames will actually show up properly, but also because a lot of the buttons and dialogs were sized expecting the somewhat-wider CJK fonts even for English text. Everything just looks a lot more polished in the Korean locale.

With that in mind, here are the steps to be taken:

  1. Install the cjkfonts package with:

    $ WINEPREFIX=~/.wine winetricks cjkfonts
  2. Make sure you have generated the Korean locales. In Arch Linux or Ubuntu, you can do this by editing /etc/locale.gen and making sure the following lines:

    ko_KR.UTF-8 UTF-8

    are present and un-commented. Then, run sudo locale-gen.
  3. When running Tygem, make sure LC_ALL="ko_KR" is set (though you probably want to do this in the .desktop file or script you use to launch Tygem with, rather than setting LC_ALL globally, since that would set your locale to Korean for all your programs).
