Everything seems to work in the free version when running on 32 bit Wine. It displays PDF files nicely but foremost, the annotation of text works, filling in forms, putting stams in etc works. All changes can be saved and will show up correctly in other PDF viewers.
What does not
When installing in 64 bit Wine, there is a crash each time you try to save a PDF where annotations has been made.
What was not tested
Anything related to the PRO version.
Used the .exe installer which worked flawlessly. The is a benefit of installing the Microsoft fonts as well to get nicer rendering.

Space bar stopped working...

...after entering about 50 bookmarks (in a music fakebook), and now starts right away when I resume work on this document. This occurred under Wine 1.62, Xubuntu 14.04. Crashed twice after this has occurred, not immediately, though. (Tried continuing using underscore instead of space, crashed about 3 minutes later.)

I have an install of this app PDF-XChange Viewer version 2.5 (Build 311.0) which crashes on my system when I attempt to save any changes (annotations etc) as many other people have reported. To solve this I installed current Wine Version 1.7.33 (32-bit) and PDF-XChange Viewer version 2.5 (Build 311.0) through PlayonLinux. The crash bug was solved but now experiencing some odd behaviour.
I use PDF-XChange Viewer to annotate PDFs a lot for research purposes and tend to use it alongside other software such as Zotero (www.zotero.org/) and Docear (www.docear.org/). Initially all of the annotations I made with PDF-XChange Viewer (highlighting/comments etc) would import nicely into these other software. However, I've noticed that since switching to 32-bit Wine my annotations no longer import into these other pieces of software - although they physically appear in the PDF and are saved within the PDF.
When running through Wine 64-bit that is installed directly in my system, PDF-XChange Viewer crashes (a lot) but the annotation functions works - i.e. I can import any annotations I make into the other software I use (even though everytime I save my changes PDF-XChange Viewer crashes)
Really puzzling. Could it be that I have missing libraries or something in Wine running on PlayonLinux?
My system is set-up is as follows:

Recent (2014) distro's & Pdfxviewer

I've been using PdfXviewer intensively in Windows - and there it also proves to be instable, eg. when saving annotations and if more than one pdf-file is opened/viewed. So complains/restrictions noted here when working with PdfXviewer and recent Linux distro's might not have much to do with Linux/Wine, and so can't be remedied on this level.
