Opening and marking up pdf files works great, just like on windows.
What does not
Scrolling the screen vertically causes horizontal lines to appear. This is distracting but does not make the text illegible. With the default view of 4 pages appearing, scrolling horizontally causes closely spaced vertical lines to appear, which does affect legibility.
Scrolling both horizontally and vertically soon makes the screen illegible.
As Raffaele reported, legibility can be restored by refreshing the screen, eg by clicking on any of the view icons in the bottom right.
If you view the pdf in Fit Page (eg one page filling the window) then you completely avoid this problem and the program is very useable.
What was not tested
Printing, Pro functions, bookmarks.
My video is Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (reported by typing lspci on the command line).
