What works
This was for verwion 9.1. AOL downloaded itself and made the folders. The icons showed up. It appeared as though the programs were there and they may have been.
This was with Wine 0.9.59.
I do not know how to compile 1.0 from source code and it was only made available 2 days ago.
What does not
During the install process, there were white screens that would not go away, I tried to Kill some processes but could not identify the correct ones.
On reboot, the FIles were in place but would not load when clicked. Nothing seemed to work. I went with the online version and websites - this is all for my wife anyway.
Workarounds
What was not tested
did not go through command line tools to really try to figure out if there would be other ways to make this work.
Time spent = 30 mins or so. My Linux skill - 5 out of 10. User only, not developer.
Hardware tested
