NatSpeak 11.5 installs pretty much flawlessly into a Windows 8 wineprefix. It's core function, which is converting dictated words into text, works very well when using wine's Notepad or Dragon's DragonPad.
It crashes a couple of times during speech training, but can be re-started.
What does not
See the crashes above. Also, the program has lots of little tweaks, not all of which have been tested. (Many of them appear to work.) These tweaks are not essential to core function.
Dictation does not work outside the wine environment, nor should it.
