What does not
Installing the game requires tweaking
Starting up the game requires tweaking and Lutris installed.
When installing with wine you must choose the SIMTown.exe and NOT the INSTALL.EXE , the INSTALL.EXE always shuts down without doing anything
What was not tested
Saving the game
Workaround crucial for starting the game
Starting the game simply from wine in the terminal throws errors at you, so from testing on Linux Mint and Pop_OS! this way of launching the game did not work for me, however there is a workaround.
!!You require Lutris for this!!
Open Lutris and add a game, use the executable in SIMTOWN.EXE (found in the location the game was installed).
Use wine as the runner, but use the version tkg-4.6-x86_64
Game should start up perfectly, if not I found this solution by experimenting with the versions so it is worth a try.
